Winifred Wells, 5 feet 5 , 22 years old, crossed Australia and back starting on Boxing Day 1950 and got back in January '51 on her Royal Enfield 350 Bullet.
In 21 days she rode from Perth to Sydney and back, whopping distance of 5,504 miles, averaging 366 miles per day, alone, braving the barren, sandy, waterless wastes of the Nullarbor Plains, a sparsely inhabited desert more than 1,000 miles wide. She is one tough lady...

If you compare the last two pictures you can guess how tough was the trip from the weathering on her bike. But you can tell she had awesome time riding from her warm smile.
