the first females to ride a motorcycle across the USA. in 1915 Effie bought a new Harley-Davidson twin with a small inheritance. said she was going to ride it across the USA. "not without me you're not,"{these may not be her exact words} said Avis her mother. so they added a sidecar and off they went. from Brooklyn to San Francisco and back. here they are on the Pacific Ocean somewhere around San Frisco.
