this is a picture of the Imperial Russian Armored Cruiser Rurik. she was the last armored cruiser of the Russian fleet. launched in 1908 she had a main battery of 10" guns and a secondary of 8". like all the world's armored cruisers Rurik was made obsolete by the new classes of dreadnought battleships and battlecruisers which, unlike the armored cruisers, were powered by steam turbines. thus they were faster, more heavily armored and had a vastly more powerful main armament.
