here's the battleship Rhode Island making a good turn of speed. not flank speed as the bow wave would be much bigger. just cruising along nicely. a belligerent warship of a competing navy would not like to see this coming at them. battleships pretty much ruled the oceans until the advent of the aircraft carrier.
