Drunk motorcycle instructor fell off bike three times

Kenyon, 46, was given an interim driving ban at Bingley Magistrates' Court after admitting drink-driving while giving a lesson.

She was found to have 131 microgrammes (mcg) of alcohol in 100 ml of breath – almost four times the limit of 35mcg. Police later found two bottles of brandy – one empty and one three-quarters full – in her jacket.

After yesterday's hearing Roger Stanley, of Ridesafe Motorcycle School, said Kenyon had been sacked on the day of the offence.

He said: ''It was a big shock. We have very high standards and I was disgusted with what happened.

''I didn't know she had a problem, neither did any of the instructors.''

Kenyon had worked for Ridesafe for nine years and had been employed on a sub-contractual basis, Mr Stanley added.

The case was adjourned for the preparation of reports and Kenyon was told she must return to court on April 6 for sentencing.

The court was told Kenyon had been giving instruction to a learner biker on March 3, but shortly after setting off she dropped her motorcycle and needed help to get back on.

The rest of the lesson continued in a similar fashion and ended with Kenyon on the ground with a number of people gathered around her.

When police arrived and removed her motorcycle jacket they found two bottles of French brandy.

Kenyon told officers the empty bottle had been consumed the day before and she had only had a mouthful that day.

The court was told Kenyon was no longer working as an instructor.
